This is, if they aren't eating up populist claptrap from various socialists that infect our colleges and uni's, younger orientated news sources, Guardian, Indy etc, BBC3 a source of information for quite a few young people.

Why can't documentaries be like they used to be, where an increadibly knowledgable persons with years of expirience in the area, with an objective cause comes into it, instead of people like Dooley.

Dooley, and the people interviewed, are a prime example of why economics, without any influence from political bias, should be taught/compulsary at GCSE standard, then, if you wish, you either take the sort of standard course at A level, or continue compulsary economics as an AS subject over two years, which diversified into more pragmaticism and real world examples.

And economy with a mix including 16% public administration (bureaucracy) and 12% subsidies, is, is, well .... that coupled with fact a country such as greece, ranked 28th out of hundreds on countries for standard of living/HDI, yet it ranked 100 for ease of business and is even lower for economic freedom, yet 23% are on the poverty line (or what the west calls "poverty"), its just a living contradiction. The blame solely rests with the government and not the market/capitalism, atleast some revolutionaries acknowledge the problem was caused by the "state" (as many said so on the show), but to replace with communism, again, contradiction.

Because people love shows like X Factor and Pop Idol. Shows aimed at easily pleased idiots. The logical step is to dumb everything down to that level to get the most possible viewers.

Yes I do agree with the fact that Dooley did seem a bit dense but I think it's disgusting that you's can sit on your little computers or phones and mock the Greeks. Saying things like they probably have a degree in a social science.. Please step off your high horse. These people are struggling and you feel it's okay to sit on a forum site and mock. I also think that they may have used Dooley as someone people can relate with, I know a lot of people who do not know the severity of the crisis in Greece and think that this show would be enough to spark an interest. This allowing them to go and research the crisis further. I myself am fascinated with what is going on and am travelling to Athens in December to meet up with people my age and see how the crisis is effecting them. Hopefully this never happens to Britain but if it does and you see some obnoxious person who has never lived in the situation commenting and mocking, you'll get a taste of your own medicine. This is something I'm pretty passionate about this and have researched thoroughly so I know it's not as straight forward as just being the governments fault.

Yes I understand Greeks were terrible for tax evading but I live in Britain and we are forever hearing about politicians and celebrities tax evading. I don't image there isn't hundreds of British people evading their taxes either. I certainly hope this doesn't mean we deserve the severe austerity measurements they are facing. There is strict tax laws in Greece now, which always should have been their.
