Worried I failed first year.
Hello all,
Just some brief information on my first year: I started the year doing a Business Computer Systems course which will change in the 2nd year to a Digital Media Development course. This is simply because I found parts of the Business Computer Systems course to be insanely boring.
Anyway for my 1st semester I did really well, hell for a fair few of my modules this year I've handed all the work in and did well in exams (all above 50%) same for the 2nd semester...except a couple of modules.
In 2 modules I recently got back coursework for the 2nd semester. I somehow managed to get 18% for one piece and an E for the other piece. I did pretty well in these modules in the first semester and put my low grades down to 3 things:
1) Getting really bored with those modules which won't be in my second year as a digital media development student.
2) Breaking up with my long-distance girlfriend (my decision but still)
3) Focusing on the more interesting aspects of my course (Web Design / Programming)
Anyway overall I'm just worried that these poor grades will cause my university to refuse my course transfer and/or throw me out

Re: Worried I failed first year.
Check your university regulations and email your tutor. With my 2nd set of modules I failed one due to illness and I have a reassessment to get all my work in by the 24th August. As far as I know most courses have 1-2 reassessment opportunity. If you fail your reassessment project though you would be screwed. As my failure in the module was due to illness I got an extenuating circumstance so my marks won't be capped however as you don't have a valid reason for a EC you will have your marks capped at 40% and really in your first year thats nothing to worry about
