Deciding for a gap year after being accepted?
So due to some personal and financial problems I'm about 90% sure I want to take a year off before uni. My question is, if I get the grades I need and get accepted, can I still withdraw from the university?

Yes, you can withdraw your application, but if it's the same course you want to do you can ask the uni if you can defer (although they might say no).

Phone them up now and ask if they can defer the offer for a year (assuming you still want to do that course.) You're still early enough that they can factor being down a student into their results day approach and are possibly more likely to say yes now than when they've got all the numbers right for results day.

But in answer to your question, yes you can still withdraw after getting the grades. You have no obligations to them right up until you've enrolled.
