    'Bulging Brides'
I'm sat is watching 'bulging brides' (yep, veeery bored) and americans seem to think a size 12 (american size 8) is fat?!?!?
No wonder they all have such a warped body image.

They are such sizeist morons. They'll only be happy when everyone on the planet is either malnourished and anorexic, or morbidly obese coz they've given up trying. Smart.

All of the brides to be look healthy and happy before their 'body blast' which I think is totally unnecessary.

    Opinions?

Oh my god, I watched this programme once or twice out of boredom - it's so incredibly staged and crap, words can not describe how awful this joke of a tv show is.

The beginning, Size 12 (UK) bride tries on her dress that supposedly doesn't fit - even if all she needs to do is get a slightly bigger size because she's nowhere near obese, and goes "Waa! I'm fat!." Then while this is happening the two hilariously stereotypical personal trainers: especially the huge guy who looks like he's abused the steroid use a bit and acts like a wannabe Army drill sargeant, and the annoying woman nutritionist both sneak into the bridal shop acting like they're secret agents in the worst way possible and surprise the "fat" bride. The dialogue is also obviously scripted, as well as the whole structure of the show. Bride does a couple of hard workouts with the guy trainer, she then gets fed up and goes out partying with her friends and stuffs her face with junk food, all while conveniently being "secretly" filmed. The filmed footage then gets directly sent back to the trainer who makes her do an extra hard workout as "payback." Just an overall terrible show.

A lot of TV programmes are rubbish and tend to ruin the self-esteem of some people who watch them. Yes to being healthy and fit but no to thinking size 12 is unhealthy. I can't stand all these shows where people are perfectly fine body wise but think they're the size of Canterbury Cathedral. I just stick to the History Channel nowadays because at least the Ancient Greeks weren't too fussy when it came to a bit of flesh here and there.

I hate to butt in on your "Americans are sizeist morons!" rant, but 'Bulging Brides' is actually a Canadian show

The brides are on the show willingly because they're unhappy with their bodies. Even if a size 8/12 is average nowadays, that doesn't mean it's healthy. Have you noticed most of the women on the show, despite looking okay, have incredibly fatty, salty, alcohol-filled diets? That's not good for anybody at any size.

Methinks you're just a bit annoyed because you're perhaps a size 12 and feel personally insulted by similar sized people (Canadians, again) thinking they're fat.

Ok, i'm sorry I made the assumption that they were american, It's very hard for an english person to tell the accents apart!

And, FYI i'm a size 8, 8 stone 7lbs, and very happy with my size. I eat healthily and look after myself, so I know what it takes to maintain a healthy lifestyle, and let me tell you, there is no way that dieting to the extremes (basically not eating for the run up to your wedding) and running up hills for a couple of days laden with backpacks is going to make your body healthy for life, it's probably just going to make you think being healthy is some sort of punishment or something!

Ahaha I watch a lot of rubbish but this takes the biscuit. The format is exactly the same, the dress always miraculously fits perfectly at the end whether they've lost 2 or 20 pounds, and the women aren't even fat to begin with!! One was the same weight/height as me (average) and goes "oh no, I'm a porker" - way to make normal people feel like crap.
