    Should I be getting taxed?
Hi, I work part time, max 16 hours a week. I am a student a university. I have seen that I have been taxed on my payslip.

I think I shouldn't be getting taxed because I am a student, is this right or am I wrong?

You still get taxed even if you are a student. You are not exempt just because you are studying. Tax exemption only happens when you earn under a certain amount per week, im not sure what it is exactly but its along the lines of your tax allowance (about 8k) spread out over the 48 working weeks or something.

Saying that I would check your tax code and make sure you are not on emergency tax or anything
