    Working abroad
    Heyy Guys,

Not sure if I have posted this in the correct category as I'm new to this but maybe someone will be able to help. I'm looking at possibly working abroad this season/next season but would like personal experiences of working abroad such as what it was like, how you found it and what job you was doing. Also, I'm worried about missing people like my friends and family from back home so how I might cope with that.

Any help would be great and again sorry if I posted this in the wrong category

    Re: Working abroad
I worked abroad in Germany for 13 months when I was doing my year abroad. At first it was a complete shock and I didn't think I'd cope at all as it was difficult being on my own and not knowing anyone for the first few weeks. I was also incredibly challenged at work for a while until I got the hang of it. It all got so much easier over time as I made lots of new friends, so I didn't miss people at home too much. The best way to keep in touch was Skype as it meant I could talk to my fmaily every day for free. Looking back on it now, it was the best thing I ever did It's helped me with my career and I've made some amazing friends who I still keep in touch with on a regular basis.

Did you ever go home and see people or just out in Germany for the full 13 months? Also do you have any websites on how you applied for the job or anything as it's something I'm looking into doing but just worried about missing people back home and being on my own while I'm there ... sorry for all the questions but thanks for the help

I don't think this is exactly what you're looking for but it might help, it's a website for working for free in exchange for accomodation - http://www.workaway.info/

Work away you stay with other people either in their house or a tent/caravan, for free but in return for accommodation you do jobs for them..

Sounds good, I want to work in Turkey as I've been on holiday there a few times and again this year and really enjoyed it . How old, if you don't mind me asking, where you when you worked there?
