MPs to work a four day week
Has anyone seen in the news, MPs are thinking of giving themselves fridays off, as apparently no work gets done there on firdays anyway. Will they take a pay cut accordingly? Doubt it somehow.
So everyone has to work harder and longer while they get a three day weekend, nice

Re: MPs to work a four day week
I think the logic behind it is that having a three day "weekend" will give MP's more time to spend in their constituencies doing surgeries and meeting constituents, particularly for those MP's who represent places very far away from London.
If you spend the whole of the week in Westminster and then just have the weekends to do constituency stuff then you're not going to spend much time with your family are you?
That's the reasoning behind this that I've seen anyway, whether or not MPs would genuinely spend the extra day doing surgeries etc would remain to be seen. -
Re: MPs to work a four day week
A flight is only 1h and 15 mins from London to Edinburgh (which is pretty far away). I say just give MP's the money for transport to get back to their constituencies quickly as opposed to giving them the whole day off (though they probably get enough money for that already). If you make Friday a holiday then Thursday starts to become an unproductive working day too.
