    Firefox keeps forgetting my tabs...
...But that's usually after I have some sort of crash. Normally it's fine, but if I have to manually shut down Firefox, it will often forget my tabs. It sometimes happens when I accidently load up two instances of Firefox - One will come up with my tabs, the other comes up blank. When I close them both, it remembers the blank tabs (I.E, no tabs)... So when I load up Firefox again, all my tabs are missing.

Is there any way to backup the tabs which are open at any one time? I usually have around 20 open at any one time - Just because I need to remember to do things, and I dislike using bookmarks. I have a fairly substantial rig - Intel i7 2600 at 3.4Ghz. 6GB of DDR3 dual core memory. It idles at about 1% CPU usage and 51% RAM when I have everything opened up ready to work - So it shouldn't be inherently unstable should it?

Any suggestions for backing up my tabs? Or making sure that it won't forget them in those odd circumstances?

    Cheers

    Hi,

Ensure that private browsing is not enabled. You should be able to restore from a previous session if you Firefox crashes accidentally:

In Settings, under "General", there should also be an option saying: "When Firefox starts: Show my windows and tabs from last time."

I'm not using private browsing, and the option to show my previous tabs is activated (as I say, it usually remembers the tabs - It just kicks up a fuss when other windows are opened or a crash occurs)

I didn't have the option to restore the previous session either. It had all the options other than that.

Is there a plugin or anything which will periodically back them up and automatically load them up again?

Which version of firefox are you using? Unfortunately I don't know of such a plugin so I can't help you there as I am mainly a Chrome user.

I'm using version 13.0.1 which it says is up to date.

Firefox will only store the tabs open for the last session open. There is nothing you can do about it, bar not opening 2 firefoxes at the same time.
