The Apprentice ( Sir Lord Alan Sugar) Interview !!!!!
Ok, guys, i was sitting in my bedroom one day and quite tired of worrying about the thought of not being able to secure a training contract. ( I graduate next week in an LLB in Law).
Last month, i wasn't even able to write a covering letter; a moderator on the CV section of this site; opined that my english was perhaps a 3rd or 4th language ! It's actually my 1st language. Although, this totally threw me and perhaps even led to a little depression lol, it made me more determined. I typed letter after letter after letter.

The same night, in frustration, i came across 'The Apprentice' and i thought, i'll give it a try, because you never know ! Guess what?! I recieved an email today, inviting me for an interview (selection process) on Monday. Would you consider this being an achievement? Will this look good on my CV? Will it make me stand out from the crowd? Even getting an interview? It's something right? Or i'm i being overly confident; because if you compare it to X-Factor, considering the amount of people that apply and how many actually get through the intial stages. It's like a million to one! I'm confident but, a little scared !

Any tips on what to expect, please share your wisdom?!

I've tried so hard, and put 100% effort into everything i have done !

Just give it your best shot.

And as your title seems to suggest it, please, please be aware that you will not be interviewed by Lord Sugar.

It'll look even better when you win. You must be better than the reject who won this year. But yeah, I'd have a look at how many people apply first to see if you are in a top x% first just incase lots of people get in.

    Well done BTW.

Here's how my guess for there selection process would work:

    50% appearance

20% business ability (apologies for such a vague factor)

20% attitude (i.e. are you controversial etc)

    10% qualifications, background etc

They always need a person of different ethnicity in as well.

If you get on the show, I'd mention it. If not, I personally wouldn't. I mean, how would that go a future interview if they mentioned it?

"I see on your CV here you were interviewed for the apprentice? :eyeball:"

    "Yes, I was. :smug:"

    "So how'd that go? :curious:"

"Erm, well, it went really well. "

"So you were on the show then? "

    "No, no I wasn't... "

"Ah, I see... Moving on..."

I put Lord Sugar in brackets, because i searched for existing threads on the Apprentice on this site and the replies were related to actual apprenticeships etc. So i needed to diffrentiate it in some way, so to attract the right attention.

Everyone gets an interview, even I did I don't any business stuff. From the selection process you get given 30 seconds to talk about your self, they go for four types of people:
Really clever, so in your case, getting a degree in Law at somehwere like Oxbridge.
Not very academic but have big achievements elsewhere.
Good looking to get viewers numbers up.
Controversial and cocky people to spark chemistry between viewers, basically anyone who'll make good TV and have a good level of business ease.
