Electrics and plumbing are ideal. British trained workers in these fields are widely sort after abroad. And chiefs are gold dust here and in australia/NZ. Builders are becoming less so with Eu migrants though but its your choice!

I would choose to be a plumber or a electrician from my experience. Avoid bricklaying as most new build used metal stud walling that in my opinion has added to the decline in the bricklaying trade. Plasters and joiners are always needed. However, take into consideration plumbers and electricians carry out a lot more maintenance work so there is more work. There are numerous other trades and although they may pay more, in today’s economy the work is not available. I wish I knew this when I was 16.

If you're trained as a electrician in the UK, retraining is needed to work in Australia, maybe the same with plumbing.

Depends which route you take. 2 years full time at college, this is 3 days a week. 2-3 years with an apprenticeship where you do block release for 1 week every 3 weeks. There is also a part time route but you would have to speak to your local college about it.

Its only a minor test, If you are a british qualified electrician then you can pass it no swet. Its not a whole new system.
