    Should she
My older sister has just finished her second yearat a top Russell group university and is unhappy. What I mean is that she is unhappy career wise she had her heart set on becoming a lawyer in the City but because of her first year grades she refuses to entertain the idea. In first year she got 59.5% and in second year she got 73%. she looks set for a first or high 2.1 but is refusing to apply to the magic circle firms she really wants. What should I do to encourage her and make her happy ?

    Re: Should she
Are there any mitigating circumstances to explain her relatively lower first year grades (without going into detail on here)? I think 73% in her second year is a great achievement- she should be VERY proud of herself! I got less than 73% in my second year, and have had interviews with Magic Circle and US firms for training contracts in the past.

She should go for it if she wants it!
