    Alcohol in the eye? Help?
    Hey there,

I was out last night and some guys thought it would be funny, since I wasnt drinking much last night, to dip my head and pour Vodka & Red bull into my mouth, since they were so pissed, it missed, hit my nose and drenched my entire shirt and my eye started stinging, assuming it went in, I quickly washed it out with some water and cleaned up to what I could.

I've woken up this morning, popped my glasses on as usual, but the left eye, the one which i 'think' it went in, seems a little off, not perfect, but not majorly bad, this sometimes happpens after i've been out drinking and i'm slightly hungover.

What should i do? I have work in a few hours, and i can't afford to miss it -- I'm working quite late and long shifts this weekend, would you reccomend seeing E.R tonight after work, or would you reccomend leaving it? -- It may just go away. I'm just worried.

I've read some resources online of people who this has happened to, and it seems like they got a "chemical" burn from it, but their eye was red, sore, and itchy. Mine is fine, it just feels a little "under powered".

    Thanks,
    Chris.

As you said you often feel like this with a hangover anyway, and it doesn't hurt then I would just keep and 'eye' on it, if you'll excuse the expression, and if it starts to feel really irritating then don't hesitate in getting it looked at.

    With people doing this.

Then I doubt a splash of vodka is going to leave you blind, it may sting but there won't be any lasting damage just from that.

agree with above, it's the people that make a habit of it that end up with serious damage.

Alcohol in the eye CAN damage your eye, but this mostly seems to happen to people who frequently 'drink' undiluted vodka through their eye. A small splash of diluted vodka shouldn't cause much damage. Wash it out with water and go to work

A small bit of it shouldn't do much, if any, damage compared to whats going on in that article
