What to pair with a faux leather dress?
    Hi everyone,

I don't know if it's the quarter life crisis moment or whatever, but I made a very impulsive purchase on Forever 21 of a paneled faux leather dress (as it was on sale and faux, before PETA attack!). I don't know if I could wear it on a night out on my birthday weekend as I don't usually see them around outside of the Camden area. Was just thinking what I could pair it with without looking slutty (if possible). I was thinking maybe a coloured shrug and black opaque tights?

I will try and get a picture attached!

I have a leather skater-style dress that I've worn on nights out with sheer polka dot tights and and wedges/creepers and a cardigan. I also have a tight leather pencil skirt that I guess is similar to your dress, I usually dress it down with a cream tank top and converse.

I suppose it depends where you're going; pub or club? I'd probably wear it with sheer plain or patterned tights, knitted cardigan , and creepers or wedges depending on how dressed up you want to be!

I'd be going from a pub to a club, but I usually wear flats or wedges so those suggestions would defo work, thanks!

EDIT: This was in reply to Holly Unsightly, forgot the quote tag!

Mikey, haha, if I had the dosh I might try it, although I'm not really gothy in my look - hence the impulse buy! Would look pretty neat though, I agree!

    Please not with a shrug.

I'd go for patterned tights and a cardigan (although the cardi may not ideal for a club)

I really love how Kristina from Kayture styled leather dress. I think you could tone it down by putting skater skirt over it and basically using your dress as a top

    Great idea, I second this.
