x-Clinton Cards X-mas Temp Job Interview-x
I'm really happy today
. I got my first ever reply to a job application at Clintons and my interview is tomorrow at 4.
Please could you help me/give me tips/how to prepare/what to wear/shave-no shave/etc
Also what's the best way to stick out and get the job? I mean, surely their questions will only have limited answers, how can I stand out from the regular Joe Blows?
Thanks. Please quote me for reply

Wear shirt/trousers, definitely shave. If it's a group assessment, make sure you're the one asking the majority of the questions and be engaging with the interviewer.
Most places who advertise for X-mas jobs will take anyone and everyone who gets through to interview, but make sure you treat this interview as if you really have to impress them. -

Will I be told If I get the job tomorrow?
Also considering it's a christmas job, when will I start, In the christmas holidays?
Sorry for blabbing on, I'm so excited about all this

Re: x-Clinton Cards X-mas Temp Job Interview-xYour choice in terms of what to wear. With it being a card shop it is at the higher end of the card market. So I would say go dressed smart so it gives a good impression. Also I would say shave unless you have a full beard, if so, then trim it or whatever you do to maintain it (I wouldn't know, lol).(Original post by pinda.college)

As for what to wear, I would say at the very least smart suit trousers and a smart shirt. If you want to wear a tie and a suit jacket, it wouldn't be a bad thing because you can never go over dressed (except for fashion store interviews). But if I was attending the interview I'd wear my full suit, I might leave the tie off and simply wear my shirt unbuttoned at the collar. But its each to their own on that part.
In terms of some key words that places always like for xmas temp jobs, or simply jobs in general - loyalty, hard working, reliable, flexible - these are good words to use in your answers because they are looking for at the very least the last three when they recruit. Can't say anything more than that, but on a related note, I'm waiting to hear back on my clintons application so after your interview could you post what went on please? -
Re: x-Clinton Cards X-mas Temp Job Interview-xI went for an interview for Boots on Friday, she told me they were interviewing on the Saturday and would make a decision by Monday. I got an offer on Monday, but unfortunately it was the one role out of the four available that was hours I couldn't work. Anyway, you should hear pretty soon if you're successful.(Original post by pinda.college)

Start date ranges from immediate to a week or two later. I was told on the monday I got the offer that I would start the following monday if I accepted. So I guess it wouldn't be too long before you start because they'd want you trained up. -
