Core Maths 4: Integration of algebraic fractions
    Hi there

Please could someone confirm that my answers for these questions are correct as the solutions are missing from the back of the book for these particular questions, and I know I could check via differentiation but I just wanna be 100 percent sure I am getting the right answers.

    Many thanks

You haven't added the constant of integration ( i.e. + \text{C} ) in most of your integrals, it should be in all.

In the last step of 2b you have made a mistake.

     x + 3 \ln (x+5) - 2 \ln ( x- 3 ) \not= x - \dfrac32 \left( \dfrac{x+5}{x-3} \right)

To know how to simplify it see the spoiler,
    Spoiler:
    Show

     x + 3 \ln (x+5) - 2 \ln ( x- 3 ) = x + \ln (x+5)^3 - \ln (x -3)^2 = x + \ln \left( \dfrac{ (x +5)^3 }{ (x-3)^2 } \right)

    Btw, aren't your exams over?

I don't know these answers, but from the looks of this, you have a really good scanner? What have you got?

Also, you have very neat handwriting

ok thank you very much raheem.

Yes, my exams are over, I am just tying up some loose ends for now as I know I will need to resit at least a couple of modules next year.

Might have to have a look at one of them, thanks.

I like the way you work problems out as well, not scruffy or too long, yet all the information is there. I can never find the right balance between doing too much and too little.
