SPSS tests
Hi all,
This may be a really stupid question to ask but I'm struggling to know which test to use to analyse a questionnaire in SPSS.
The questionnaire is on opinions of a topic using likert-scale responses and I have used three groups of participants. I want to compare the responses of each group against the other groups to analyse their opinions. Does anyone know which test is the most appropriate to use in SPSS for the analysis?
I have used www.whichtest.info which suggested I use Kruskal-Wallis one way analysis of variance however I'm not sure if I put in the right information to produce that answer.
Any help would be appreciated
Thank you in advance. -

It's been a while since you posted and nobody's replied yet...maybe you should check out MarkedbyTeachers.com, TSR's sister site. It has the largest library of essays in the UK.
They've got over 181,000+ coursework, essays, homeworks etc.. all written by GCSE, A Level, University and IB students across all topics. You get access either by publishing some of your own work, or paying £4.99 for a month's access. Both ways give you unlimited access to all of the essays.
All their documents are submitted to Turnitin anti-plagiarism software, so it can't be misused, and the site's used by hundreds of thousands of UK teachers and students.
What's more, you can take a look around the site and preview the work absolutely free. Click here to find out more... -
Re: SPSS tests
Hi Rebecca.
Check this page out. It should help so long as you can figure out your dependent and independent variable (and if there are levels). http://www.ats.ucla.edu/stat/spss/whatstat/
What I used to do was search for similar SPSS examples. i.e. one's with the same amount of variables. I'd look at how they had worked it out in SPSS and made sure the pattern of my work was the same.
It's important to understand this stuff at the level you're at because regardless of what some may think, it is important. It will also make life a lot easier once you start having to read journal articles and reports because you have to know how to decide if something is significant or not.
Good luck, and I hope this helps.
P.S. If you can, invest in an SPSS guide. Second hand will do. It will be useful throughout your studies, especially if you're doing further study after your bachelor degree.
Regards,
Kidara.
