One pair of heels to go with anything?
    Hi, I need help!

I'm starting uni in October, and I really want to buy a pair of heels that will go with pretty much anything. I wouldn't be wearing them during the day (unless there was a special occasion), so they'd be for going out at night mostly.

I usually wear flat shoes/ones with a low heel during the day because I'm 5'10.5'', so I'm not looking for anything too high. I think kitten heels can look a bit weird, though, so nothing too low either!

Colour-wise, I was thinking either black or nude.

Do such shoes even exist?! I don't know what style would be best, so any advise would be much appreciated. Thanks

Yes, they do. But you will probably go through a few pairs first that you inevitably discount because they end up being uncomfortable, or getting wrecked, or whatever.

Black or nude is definitely the best choice, something like a simple court shoe is best. I think New Look is a great place for shoes and they're always super comfy. If you have a bit more of a budget, then try Aldo.

A good pair of plain black heels will be a good investment. Not too plain though, I have some with a little zip and a small bow on the back which are really versatile and pretty. Also I used to have some black and grey shoe-boots which I wore to death! They weren't too high either, slightly lower than average heels, so they were super comfy and won't make you tower above everyone! I got my new heels from New Look but they are a bit high - all New Look's heels seem to have giant platforms on the bottoms these days

Get some nude ones as well, you can wear them with everything. Personally I wear my black ones more because they look good with or without black tights (and I like to wear thick black tights for warmness!!), whereas nude heels don't go with black tights so you could only wear them bare-legged/thin nude tights.

Thanks, I've been looking online since I made this thread and I'd basically decided on court shoes too. I've seen a few pairs I like on the New Look website, so I might have to go try on a few pairs!

Thanks for the suggestions, I might just get both colours then! I suppose getting both would mean I could style the same dress in at least two different ways, which is good. New Look do seem to have a lot of platforms, but I've seen a couple that don't look as high so I might see what they're like

I was in the same position as you last year before uni. I decided to go with some nice black ankle boots. I do not regret it and I cannot recommend it enough!! Something like this one.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I just got a pair of expensive black suede ankle boots at Christmas I completely agree with you, ankle boots are amazing! They go with pretty much anything too, but I figured I ought to have some shoes as well because they're not exactly summery.

I got a pair of black peep toe heels from Primark recently and I have to say they are more comfortable than I expected them to be. They are about 3 inches which I think is absolutely the best height. I actually may come back and get nude ones as well as for £12 its a steal.
