Cellulite. Help!
I'm only twenty and fairly slim (a size 8 or 10) but have loads of very visible cellulite on the back of my thighs!
I probably started eating pretty badly when I moved out at 18 but I always thought it was okay because i didn't really put on weight. I also didn't do a huge amount of exercise aside from walking. So I'm assuming that's why i've all the cellulite.
I didn't notice it until recently and I have no idea how to make it go away! Or if I even can. I've been doing some research but all the things i read are about how to 'reduce the appearance of'. I just want it gone altogether!
Does anyone have any suggestions or success stories they could share? Is it possible to get rid of cellulite? Any tips?
It's really sad that at twenty I'm now too self conscious to wear a bikini or shorts even! Gah. -
Re: Cellulite. Help!
Massage and body brushing are supposed to help more than topical creams because they actually move the fluid trapped in the skin. Have a look at your local beauty college, mine do these special types of vigorous massages for £10 each which is a lot cheaper than you'd find elsewhere.

Cut down on all the bad foods like fast or junk food, food with visible grease, refined sugars etc like chocolate and stuff like white rice, lots of pasta and white bread. Just eat all of these in moderation.
Eat more fruit, vegetables, fibre rich food, try to grill meat and chicken not fry it...just your basic healthy living tips really
Also drink water! It sounds useless but it really helps to shift all those toxins and fats.
And finally, body brushing has been mentioned and I cannot recommend it enough. Most people body brush before getting into the shower or bath but I body brush vigorously then soak in a hot bath for a while, get out and immediately body brush again then slap on firming moisturiser. All those expensive creams aren't worth it, Jergens Body Firming Cream for a few pounds does the job!
Combines topical aerobic exercises with toning is brilliant also. For example cycling or breaststroke swimming or walking uphill or on an incline combined with yoga or Pilates. TRX straps which was originally an army workout is unbelievable for toning and losing cellulite as it burns fat and tones up at the one time.
I used to have really bad cellulite although I was fairly slim but now it's hardly visible! -
Re: Cellulite. Help!cellulite is just fat that's sort of squeezing through the muscle in your legs - all these massages are all very well but the real issue is you've got too much fat and not enough muscle in your legs. you'll never get rid of cellulite completely - all women have it. but toning your legs by running/cycling etc will stop that dimpled effect. you're meant to have fat in your thighs but you need muscle too!

Re: Cellulite. Help!well exercise will get rid of it in the sense that cellulite is just what we call it when the fat pokes through and looks kind of bumpy... but there'll always be fat in your legs, so if you gain weight/more fat, it'll just go all bumpy again, even if you've got muscly legs. so unfortunately, you have to eat properly and exercise properly to keep it away all the time!(Original post by Kirsten92)

I suffer from it on my legs too and I'm a size 6/8
Dry body brushing with a natural bristle brush in circular motions towards the heart really helps
Regular thigh work outs such as heel drops/lunges
Also fake tan reduces the appearance and I also find wearing high heels helps the appearance

Re: Cellulite. Help!
I don't think cellulite is the result of being overweight, skinny people can get it too! I would recommend dry body brushing, get one with natural bristles and do it before you get in the shower or bath, takes maybe five minutes max and feels really good

Also drinking plenty of water, keeping your skin well moisturised and regular exercise probably doesn't hurt

Re: Cellulite. Help!Haha, cheers! What a lovely comment. My boyfriend thinks I'm being ridiculous cos he doesn't notice it. It's more for myself that I want to get rid of it though.(Original post by Ryan_94)
If it's any consolation, from a guys perspective, I don't think it matters. Women don't seem to want it, but whenever I see it on a girl I don't really take any notice unless it's majorly extreme (which it never seems to be).
