    which uni is the best?
Hiya, I'm pretty new to all this but I seriously need some helppppp!
basically i want to do theatre studies at uni and I found a few unis that I like on paper (not visiting most of them till september though!) but as drama course are very similar it's hard to rule out some course wise so i was wondering if people could help me, night life, uni life etc
    my options are:
    UEA
    Kent
    Exeter
    York
    Lancaster
    Birmingham
    Warwick

The only one I have visited is Exeter and although I thought it was nice the stigma of the 'oxbridge throwbacks' with a lot of money worries me...

so can anyone help me out? any advise would be very much appreciated!

They're not all "Oxbridge throwbacks". Keep an open mind and heart and you're bound to meet people you like.

Have you considered Goldsmiths for Drama?

By "Oxbridge throwbacks" they really don't mean theatre studies students.

Don't pay attention to league tables, you need to look at their drama department. Look at their Alumni, any famous people go there?

I hate to say this kid, but doing a theatre studies degree at uni, the prestige won't get you very far. Unless it's the Cambridge Footlights or (to a lesser extent) East 15, the university isn't going to have connections that will get you that far.

In all honesty, I wanted to do a TS/Drama degree but then I realized it wasn't worth the money. I was better off just joining a theatre society and see where it goes from there, a degree alone won't get you anywhere, other than teaching really, regardless of where you go.

But if you want to do it, don't let me stop you at all. Don't look at "prestige" look at their Alumni, past students, ask about connections they have with theatres, does the city have a large cultural background that the university is connected with perhaps?

Exeter then Warwick then York ! There are Oxbridge rejects everywhere, moneyed people everywhere ! There are equally lots of other types of people everywhere. Moreover, Oxbridge rejected are not all horrid and stuck up ( I'd like to think I'm not ahah)

Trust - Exeter is lovely and a brilliant uni ! One of the bet Drama courses. ! Warwick is not in Warwick it's near Coventry for starters and it's also a self contained campus so people might not go out as much and personally I'd like to be integrated slightly more with a city Exeter is a lovely mix !

Look at Bristol first uni to offer Drama I think - and the alumni speaks for itself ! Beautiful building/department - great facilities and brilliant city !
