Weekly timetable for self-teaching Maths + Science A-Levels
I've started to self-teach myself the following AS-Levels:
Maths
Further Maths
Physics
Chemistry
I'm looking to make a weekly timetable consisting of lessons like you would have in a standard school, to include at least one of the Maths A-Levels per day.
This is my draft so far:
Day 1 - Phys + Maths
Day 2 - Chem + FM
Day 3 - Maths + FM
Day 4 - Phys + Maths
Day 5 - Chem + FM
Any good? Also, could people post their AS timetables so I can compare please?Last edited by IWantSomeMushu; 11-07-2012 at 19:47. -
Re: Weekly timetable for self-teaching Maths + Science A-Levels
Reckon if you can get four solid 2hr sessions a day you'll be good.
Maybe 2 phys 2 maths 2 phys 2 math or 4 phys 4 math broken up depending on your preferred method really, same with other days, I self study and try to keep to a similar routine and then go over some things later maybe if a little unsure, suppose it is what you think will be the easiest to stick to.
All the bestLast edited by SubAtomic; 11-07-2012 at 19:55. -
Re: Weekly timetable for self-teaching Maths + Science A-Levels
My students get 9hrs (9x1hr lessons) a fortnight timetabled lesson time for each subject. They are expected to do about half as much again in homework/self study time (or more).
How you want to split the time up is up to you, so long as you do the hours. You might get more done having a 2-3hr slug of time, or find it easier to cut it down into 1hr chunks. Depends on how best you work.
Remember, much of the lesson material is often designed for a 1hr lesson, so you may find "natural" breaks in the material
