Is anyone going to Xaverian or Aquinas college in Manchester?
Basically, I know nobody at any of these colleges. I haven't decided which one i'm going to yet; I am waiting for the induction type days, so I can try out the subjects at each one. But yeah, I literally know nobody. I'm going to be running round trying to make random people sit with me so i'm not sat there alone all day, whilst wondering where it all went wrong. Seriously though, anyone going?

I might be going in the fall of 2013 or Stockport or William Hulme; depends on the Maths and Physics department for me...

I have a lot of friends at Aquinas and a couple at Xaverian (although I don't really know a huge amount about the latter). In terms of where to go, the choice should be pretty easy depending on what you prefer, Xaverian's in/near Rusholme isn't it? Whereas Aquinas is in Stockport town centre, so the location and people are pretty different. Can't say much about induction days as I didn't end up going to either in the end, although I would say I've heard Aquinas can be a bit cliquey once new friendship groups form, but I assume on the induction day everyone'll be in a similar position of not knowing many people, and no-one I know has struggled to make friends (: I didn't know you could go to more than one induction day, I thought they were for people who were definitely going?

(edited as I need to learn to read the op)

I went to Aquinas! Not being biased or anything, but I've heard it's better than Xaverian. I did leave almost 4 years ago :ninja: but I'm sure you won't have any trouble making friends wherever you go. I found everyone really friendly at Aquinas.

Well since the first one was today i'm a bit late in replying to this

I'm going into my second year at Xaverian and i've been helping out at the induction day today and will be tomorrow too (Maybe we've unknowningly bumped into each other hahah, especially if you were/will be around the Xavier area ).

But yeah, after witnessing the induction day myself last year, honestly don't worry about making friends on this day; you only have about 40 minute break anyway. The vast majority of people stay in their high school groups for this day and the classes/tutor you're in won't be the same as they will be in September.. trust me, you'll make better friends when it comes to the first week in September

To be honest there seems to be a whole load of "Who's the best" between Xaverian, Aquinas and Loreto, but I would say Xaverian was the best (Like Cybele said, i'm not being biased ), Ofsted is definitely alot better and I really can't find a single fault with it, i've loved the whole year

Does Xaverian always seem really daunting? I was there today and I was overwhelmed by how many people were there

Nah it was just packed today cause everyone was following the same timetable  Especially at dinner... that was crazy!

Usually people are on different frees/lunches so it seems alot emptier.
