Re: How to find an apartment in London when many places say 'no students' ??
Having always joined existing house groups I haven't had much experience in flat hunting in London, but I have used the following websites to browse before:

Re: How to find an apartment in London when many places say 'no students' ??Hey..Are You Still Looking For Somewhere Because I May Be Able To Help ?(Original post by londonlawstudent)
Is this quite common? Websites like Gumtree etc have a lot of landlords that don't want to let to students. What is the best way to find somewhere? I need to sort this out as soon as possible before the London Games start.

Re: How to find an apartment in London when many places say 'no students' ??I live in an ex-council flat technically in Belsize Park, Camden Borough - the flat is actually in an area North of Camden Town, East of Belsize Park, South of Hampstead Heath, etc. I pay £120 per week not incl. internet, TV license, water or electricity. Last year I lived in Willesden Green which is about 4 miles West of where I am now, and I paid the same there and also not including bills.(Original post by Juichiro)

Re: How to find an apartment in London when many places say 'no students' ??I guess you are not a student and are working full-time.(Original post by freakygirlhere)
That's London for you, especially zones 1 and 2.
For the rest of us students that lifestyle is far away.

Re: How to find an apartment in London when many places say 'no students' ??No, I am a student going into my final year (hence my signature). My course is so full on time wise that it wouldn't be possible for me to have any sort of job term time anyway, it's just a matter of fact that property is expensive in London and especially in North London near all the fashionable areas. The cheapest rent I know of out of my friends is someone paying £90 per week to live out in zone 5, but the house was entirely unfurnished and it is a long journey time into uni and money then gets spent on transport.(Original post by Juichiro)

Our uni does give a very small grant to students as it only has a few rooms in the University of London halls so can't really provide accomodation, and of course you get more from student finance for being a student in London anyway. As my course workload is a definate exception compared to 'normal' courses, I imagine you would easily be able to offset the costs and work during term time and then work full time in holidays.
For the rest of us students that lifestyle is far away.
