Qualified Teacher Status?
Will you get a Qualified Teacher Status from whichever uni you do PGCE from?
Including London Met Uni? because it says this one their website :
If you complete the course and also pass the relevant TDA skills tests in numeracy, literacy and ICT, you will be recommended for Qualified Teacher Status for teaching Key Stage 3 (age 11-14) and Key Stage 4 (age 14-16).
'recommended' for a QTS?
Does that mean we have to take extra tests after completing the course if we wanted to have QTS?
Please help! -
Re: Qualified Teacher Status?
Yeah, i had the process explained to me at that teacher training recruitment fair earlier this year and iirc it's the bureaucratically correct statement of what happens at all teacher training institutions (including the ones attached to unis that cause advanced sexual arousal on the forum e.g. warwick and notts) and not specific to london met.

Re: Qualified Teacher Status?what's the GTC?(Original post by alexmagpie)
It's the token hated university on TSR, but don't worry, people can just be snobs.
To actually answer your question - I believe that 'recommendation to QTS' simply means that it is up to the GTC to award your status, not the university.
There are so many fricking acronyms it's unbelievable!
