Is this advisable to say in an interview?
If I was going for a Quantitative Analyst role, would it be obnoxious to tell the interviewer that I consistently achieved firsts in all my stats modules in my undergrad and MSc?

For example, if they asked the question why I think I would be suitable for the role or why I think I would enjoy it?

My work colleague said it's obnoxious, but I guess he would because we are competing for the same role, but he doesn't have those firsts.

I just wonder what others think?

Sounds fine to me. It shows that you enjoy and excel in that area.

mmm, i wouldn't say it's a bad thing to say. However, i wouldn't just point out that you have got those firsts. Just because you have the firsts, yes you excel, but no you don't necessarily enjoy it.
Research into what the role really is and then home in on certain aspects of it that you know you would enjoy. Whilst also mentioning your firsts, and you could probably give the reason that you enjoyoed those certain aspects and so you worked extra hard on those certain modules.

You have to be careful, just pointing out your academic acheivments and not actually shwing any personality beyond thatcan seem obnoxious and slightly big headed, but that also depends on how you say it etc etc

"Obnoxious" is definitely not the right word. It could be misconstrued as unnecessarily boastful, but only if you can't back up what you're saying. So instead of just saying "I got firsts in all my modules" you should expand on this, explaining what you got out of the modules, how they increased your interest in the subject, etc. But I'm sure you were planning on doing that anyway. Your friend sounds like a hater.

I would definitely mention it, as at the end of the day it may give you that slight advantage which may make the difference between getting the job or not. Just make sure you say it in a constructive way, in other words don't simply state it but explain what it means and how it indicates your mathematical ability as well as interest and motivation in the subject. Also, try not to look to smug when saying it haha!

If that's all you can justify as your suitability to the role then I think that's a bit thin. It goes without saying (I would imagine) that every serious applicant has also breezed through school. It is no real advantage at all.
If it's not all you have to justify your suitability, then it would hopefully be the case that a first lies in the shadows of the other skills you do have.

It's not obnoxious in the slightest. It's solid evidence that you've got a relevant skill set. Tell your friend to sod off.
