Re: Alevel in one year?
Colleges I've seen offering one year A-levels usually only offer 2 in a year and ask for previous level 3 study.
It sounds like too much to me to be honest. I mean the exam boards I have (CCEA) would have you sitting 6 AS-levels in January and then 6 A2 tests in summer with 6 praticals on top of that because you can't do the AS praticals in winter.
Just check it out with the exam board. But 3 sciences in one year is probably too much
why don't you just do the 2year course? -
Re: Alevel in one year?i would say it's possible to do 1 or 2 full A-Levels in a year, but 3 is going to be a real struggle!(Original post by Austin Nnah)
I'm about to go into an alevel programme in one year in three courses Biology,Chemistry and Physics. I'm gonna take the As and A2.. Is it gonna be possible to get at least AAB?
have you done anything like a-levels before? how old are you? what kind of grades have you got from say, GCSEs/other qualifications? how many other people will be in the class?
i think you'd have to put in a lot of time to do this - but when i did my a-levels (bio, chem, maths) they were really about memorising and then practising - it's just about the time really, and if you're fairly intelligent, it's not that hard to understand most of it. -
Re: Alevel in one year?
Having done all three of those subjects, i think it is possible but you will have no social life, at all. Physics will be the easiest in the sense there is not much to learn content wise, mainly calculations. Biology on the other hand will be hard in the fact that there is just so much to learn. As soon as i revised a chapter, i would go on to the next only to forget the first dam chapter! And Chemistry, well chemistry for me is just hard. If you are prepared to work extremely hard, its doable. Good luck!

Re: Alevel in one year?
Errm... I guess it's technically possible if you're well above average intelligence and you get a headstart before September but I wouldn't say I'd recommend it to be honest.. Bad grades can kinda taint your record and most people struggle to do well in those subjects when spread over 2 years.. Why are you trying to do them in 1 year anyway? Why not do an access course if you want to get to uni in 1 year?
I'm sure it's possible if you work hard enough.
