narrowly missed mark and rejection. help
i have posted about my situation before, but need more advices.
To give more detail about me, I took chemical engineering foundation course, and didnt meet the offer by 0.5% less in math. However, the overall score with chemistry mark is sufficient.
My offer was from edinburgh university and i am very worried as it is my insurance choice and the last hope.
I have sent mail to the university for the reconsideration, but want to know if there are anyone have encountered mt case.
Also my current ucas status is unsuccessful.
For the last question, do u still get unsuccessful because of insufficient IELTS? I thought we can still submit until august?.. IELTS also lacks 0.5 in writtingLast edited by giljeong93; 14-07-2012 at 10:09. -
Re: narrowly missed mark and rejection. help
You might be able to retake IELTS, but you would need to discuss this with the university - if you don't, they will assume you're not retaking and are keeping the score you already have.
As it is, you've missed two different conditions of the offer. As they've already rejected you on UCAS it's unlikely they'll give you a place. -
Re: narrowly missed mark and rejection. help
I have a feeling you might have to go into clearing. Edinburgh is not a university that I've heard tends to be particularly benevolent towards applicants who don't make their grade. Even if you say you only missed it by 0.5%, you still missed it and they aren't obliged to take you unfortunately.

Re: narrowly missed mark and rejection. helpIs it still possible for retaking exam on august to achieve from Unsuccessful to Successful?? Will UCAS accept this?(Original post by Juno)

Re: narrowly missed mark and rejection. helpYou would need to discuss this with the uni and see if they will accept it. They don't have to, as it wasn't originally stated on your UCAS form.(Original post by giljeong93)
