Can anyone recommend a good single player game on the ps3, I was thinking sky rim but I have never played this type of genre so was thinking I wouldn't know what is going on.

You've got a Fallout 3 image in your sig, so assuming you've played that you should get on just fine with Skyrim, it's much of the same, but with swords and dragons instead of machine guns and Super Mutants. If you haven't played Fallout 3, however, play that as well, it's also most excellent.

GTA IV, God of war hd collection and 3, Infamous, are the best single player games I've completed on ps3.

Currently playing both uncharted 2 and skyrim and am more hooked on to uncharted 2 but skyrim is amazing as well, it has amazing graphics.

Skyrim, it is unreal. I'd never played anything like that before, but it is the best game I've ever played (maybe excluding Crash Bandicoot 2!)

Heavy rain is a good game I started playing it last year nd started playing it again this year and im hooked ! But i'll be honest it does take a while for the game to pick up and get interesting but once your into the storyline its a great game to play !! And uncharted 2 and 3 are good as well as previous posters have suggested :-)

It's not vital but Asylum is a great game regardless, so playing it first is a good call. It's pretty cheap now.

LIMBO. It's a 2D black and white puzzle platformer (£9.99 on PSN last time that I checked). You are a boy who wakes up in the woods. You are not given an objective any time during the game nor told who you are. But if you decide to press on (as you will otherwise you wouldn't have bought the game- although there is a free demo) then you will face various obstacles and booby traps that are capable of killing you in gruesome detail. Theoretically, you could finish the game the first time without dying but, in practice, that is highly unlikely without a walkthrough because it is sometimes by dying that you realise how not to die next time. It has a very moving ending sequence in my opinion. I am not a fan of over-sentimental games but this game manges to be both touching and darkly comic.

If you are a fan of old school platform games, going way back to the 80s/90s, then this is a must play. Rick Dangerous comes to mind actually as that was also about trial and error.
