Help :( "Evidence of Compelling Personal Reasons"
Hello,
I have just applied to SFE for support in 2012/13, for a BA in Journalism. I have been asked for "Evidence of Compelling Personal Reasons".
I am from Lithuania, and in 2011 I attended Vilnius University in my home town Vilnius, here studies are free so I evend didn't attented to any loan. So I studied for half of the year Archeology course before dropping out. I just changed my mind, because I didn't liked the subject and I decided to study different subject in England.
So I don't have any compelling reason, I just changed my mind, so I want to tick the box 'not to provide evidence', but the system does not account it. I mean, I tick the box, click the continue button, and it seems that everything is allright. Then I logout from SFE, again Log In, and it writes that I DIDN'T completed EVIDENCE section and asks me again to "Select which evidence item you will provide to confirm your Course not completed reason". Does anybody knows what to do?
Hope you can help me to solve this problem.

Monica.I had a similar problem. I was part way through my undergrad degree when applying for a PGCE loan. Because I had not finished my first degree yet, even though I'd told them that, the system got confused and asked me for evidence of reasons why I didn't finish my first degree. I selected no evidence but like you every time I logged in it asked me again.(Original post by ohdrama)
hi monica,
have you worked it out by any chance? seems like i'm more or less in the same situation...
I rang up student finance and asked, they said it was just
from the way the system was set up and that when it got processed an actual person would look at it and realise the evidence wasn't needed. He advised me to just leave it, I did and my student finance all came through fine, with no delays.
So you should both be fine to just leave it, but if you want to be extra sure (as you have actually left a previous course it could make a difference) then I'd phone them up and ask, they were helpful when I did it.
Good luck!
