I received a letter the other day saying I owe some money to a debt recovery company.

I don't - but they have my details - except an incorrect date of birth, email address and telephone number.

I went mad on the phone and they said I had to report it as a crime before they would pass it on to their 'fraud department'.

I went to the police station and they said I couldn't have a crime reference number because I am not the victim as "it isn't you who is out of pocket - it is a civil matter". But my credit rating has been adversely effected.

I rang the debt recovery firm explaining this, they said they would contact me soon.

    They haven't.

    What do I do????
