Right ear hurts when I chew
I don't think pain is the right word. I wouldn't say its painful, but its rather irritating. It only feels weird when I chew on the right side. If I chew with my left it feels normal.
It started a few days ago. Should I wait a week or so before I go to my GP in hope of it going away on its own? I think it started happening after I forcefully tried to crack my neck

Re: Right ear hurts when I chew
I used to get a lot of infections in the eustachian tube, which connects your throat and ear, which gives you symptoms like ear pain when swallowing and incredibly frustrating itchiness you can't reach. It always cleared up with a course of antibiotics, but I'm still prone to ear infections when my immune system is low, which is kind of annoying.
You might have something similar, with getting the ear pain when you chew. Its worth a quick trip to the GP to check you over. If its something like an infection it can normally be treated pretty quickly and easily. -
Re: Right ear hurts when I chew
Always see a GP if you are concerned. Perhaps give it a few days to see if it goes on it's own but if it doesn't go or gets worse go see a doctor
There are a million things it could be. See what makes it better or worse and then take the info down to your gp
Hope it gets better soon xx -
Re: Right ear hurts when I chewI was thinking it was an ear infection too, but I wasn't too sure as I've never had one. Apparently some of them go away on their own with no treatment needed so hopefully if this IS an ear infection then it's not too serious...(Original post by Vohamanah)

I would, but I hate seeing my GP as it takes ages to see him :/ And I've had a few weird pains (everywhere really) in the past but they've all gone away after a week or 2 of just waiting, so if it's still here next week I'll definitely see him. Thanks(Original post by BethaneyJ)

Build up of fluids in the ear? That's kinda weird. Yeah, I guess I have no choice but to wait it out aha.(Original post by Pitt1988)
I've had this before, think it's just a build up of fluids or a mild infection. When I've noticed it in the past it has coincided with feeling like my lug hole is blocked. More than likely pass in a few days, if not go to the doc.Last edited by InadequateJusticex; 18-07-2012 at 23:31. -
Re: Right ear hurts when I chewSounds sensible to me(Original post by InadequateJusticex)

If its not bothering you too much then just wait it out, but go to the GP if it lasts for more than a couple of weeks, or it gets worse. I also found that drinking plenty of water helped, might help clear it up if it is an infection.
