Liverpool Hope PGCE - Preliminary attachment
    Hi guys,

I am thinking of applying for the PGCE at Liverpool Hope next September, and I see on their website that they expect students to spend two weeks on a preliminary attachment to a school, before September. Can anyone explain what this means....? Do you organise it yourself before the summer holidays? And for KS2 students, how long do you need to spend in a KS3 setting?

ALso, it says that some candidates will have to complete 'some or all' of the attachment in the Liverpool area. I live in Ireland, and wouldn't be moving over to Liverpool until the course starts. Why do some candidates have to complete it in Liverpool and some don't?

Hey, I think the attachment you've seen on the website is the one for those starting the course in September. We have to do two weeks (3rd-14th Sept) with different days in different key stages which we've organised. If you are only in the application stages you just need the usual two weeks minimum (though the more the better) and you can do that in Ireland, you'll have to come over for an interview if you get one. Good luck
