Getting really pissed off with Hotmail
I've wanted to delete my hotmail account for the last few days and every time i attempt to close my account, whether its on my laptop or another computer, it comes up with 'there is a temporary problem with this service, please try again later' and it's really annoying me. I just want it closed and i want to get a new email address for my own personal reasons and yet it wont let me.

    What can i do?

    Lol, Hotmail. :facepalm2:

Many people has had this problem recently, this happened yesterday aswell.

When Micro$oft gets this problem fixed, I recommend you to stay away from Hotmail. Use Gmail, Hushmail or even use your own domain email (if you have one) instead, Much more faster and secure.

Yeah i'm definitely going to be using a different service.

Do you have any estimate of how long it will take Microsoft to get this problem fixed as i really want to be closing my account soon?

Why do you have to close it? Can't you just make a new address with Gmail or something and put a blanket forward on your hotmail account?

But... Microsoft will have all your details if you didnt close it, so it would be better to close it so any of your details are not with them. Its a privacy thing.

    I like hotmail :lolwut:
It's my main email account for anything not gaming/bullcrap related...

Won't say this will work but delete your cookies, sign out, then sign on again later...

How can you use that tripe of a web email service?

    Just saying.
Because its a good email service? I've had minimal complaints when using it... Having a hotmail account also entitles you to 25gb free online storage which isn't something to overlook....

And what service have you been using?

Personally, I use my own domain email : Unlimited storage, Spam & junk free, Unlimited email aliases ( with nyms) Hotmail will never beat that
And you just need to pay for it...?
Spam and junk can happen on any email account to any service... It's because you've been giving out your email address

Unlimited storage? As in emails? Or files storage? I severely doubt it

I've got about 14,000 unread emails in my Hotmail inbox. I think it might have been suspended due to the sheer amount of spam I was getting

I've never had an issue with Hotmail and have been using it for years! Other than my work mail via outlook, I've never used any other email service.

They'll still have your details if you close it, it doesnt wipe the system lol.

And privacy issues? gtfo the internet if youre worried about privacy, you cant avoid it.

Spam and junk can happen on any email account to any service... It's because you've been giving out your email address See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Email_alias - using email aliases, you can virtually get rid of all junk and spam mail (never had one junk mail since i started using the service (2yrs ago)

Unlimited storage? As in emails? Or files storage? I severely doubt it
    See: http://www.thewhir.com/web-hosting-n...nlimited-email
By the way, Gmail has unlimited email storage as well as hotmail. I don't see your point.

    See above.

Can you explain the aliases, having difficulty understanding, the only way I see aliases as being advantageous is that you can keep changing it I.e. disposable addresses, so any spam sent would arrive to an old email alias...if true, this is hardly a great way to manage spam. Hotmail has spam filters/controls....

Ah so it's email storage not file (you upload) storage... Make sense. So it's like hotmail then?

I've got relatively a lot of service which I have paid nothing for. And this also includes a 25gb file storage (not email), which is quite helpful.

If spam Is controlled by a method other than what I mentioned above, fair enough, it's an advantage, but I'd still rather not pay for a service and it's hardly like I get spam everyday....

Looking at this thread. Its just a lot of unnecessary hate towards hotmail for no good reason. :lolwut:
