Which textbooks/revision guides would be best for these courses?
    Hey

This year I will be taking:

    AS Mathematics (OCR MEI)
    AS Biology (AQA)
AS Physics (OCR B, Advancing Phyiscs)
    AS Chemistry (OCR B Salters)
    AS Computing (OCR)

And I was wondering if anyone can recommend any textbooks or revision guides that they have used or have heard are any good.

    Thank you for any replies

For biology we were told that 'Biology' by Campbell and Reece is really good but maybe aimed more at A2/degree than AS, so only buy if you wanted to go on to biology in the future. 'Life, the science of biology' by Wallace was also reccomended by our biology department. 'Understanding biology' by Toole and Toole is also fatastic and is my biology teacher's favourite! She said something like 'It has everything you need for a level plus extra stuff too'.
I have just finished OCR computing and altough OCR's own computing textbook is good, its not very detailed. We viewed it as 'you need to know everything in it butit doesnt have everything you need to know'. Therefore we also used Blackford and Leadbetter's textbook. It sometimes seems a bit heavy but it is really really good.

    Good luck!

I was given Nelson thornes endoresed AQA AS and A2 books by my biology teacher ,but i decided to buy AQA AS&A2 collions books .After two years of using them i can tell you they helped me alot ,content wise do sometimes go beyond the Spec but it's always good to know a bit more around the subject !but i wouldn't advice you to use Collions books around exam period because too much info can mix things .

Pretty good as it follows your specification exactly ,but not alot of info !
    Examination style questions pretty decent.

Extremely essential around exam time !you need this ,it has very important keywords and last minute exam notes .

This is the one i used everyday throughout the course !

    Good luck hope that helped
