    Three years of A levels
Would an extra year of your life, be worth doing a third year of A levels, to get better results e.g. turning AAB into A*AA? It is only one year, and you will go to a far far better university in most cases?

Imo, yes. However, you have to take into account that for certain courses (such as medicine), universities will not accept applicants who have taken over two years to complete their A levels without extenuating circumstances.
