GTA IV not picking up dedicated GPU?
    Hi All,

I have bought GTA IV off Steam recently, however when I go to play it it does not want to read my dedicated graphics card on my Laptop and only reads the integrated Intel one instead. The game runs on that, however it is laggy as hell, and it should run fine using dedicated graphics. I have tried many solutions but nothing has worked so far, so I wanted to see if anyone else has had this problem and found a solution perhaps?

I have tried making it run with dedicated graphics from Nvidia Control Panel but that didn't work, it still only picks up integrated gfx, also tried loads of different ways but want to see if there is any other possibilities seeing as nothing I have found online works for me.

    My Specs are:

    Processor: i5 M480 @ 2.67 GHz
    RAM: 6GB ram (DDR3)
Gfx card: Nvidia GeForce 315M (1GB)

    Running on 64 bit Win7.
If you want any more info spec wise let me know.

    Cheers

It happens a lot with the integrated graphics, as the laptop uses the one which is the most efficient.
Also I hope you bought the GTA pack as it's cheap.

"Open the Nvidia Control Panel (from the notification area on the taskbar or by right-clicking the desktop) go Manage 3D Settings, find your game on the program to customise list (or add it manually) below that will be an option to choose the default GPU you want to run the game"
