What can you get for free or subsidised when you are a student?
    Hi

I'm looking for ways to cut costs so I wondered if anyone could list things that are free or subsidised for students e.g. Council Tax and health costs.

Many thanks. Rep for any good money saving tips.

If everyone who lives in the property is a student, you are exempt from council tax - you must apply for this though.
You can get money off a TV licence if the property isn't occupied all year.
Ask for discounts everywhere with your student card.

The health costs thing is only if you're under 19. You can apply for help if you're on a low income by filling in a HC1 form.

I'd invest in an NUS card, discounts in lots of shops as well as all cinemas. Some times you can get away with just using your normal uni card but the NUS is a safer bet
