    No DOC for under 25s
i came across this recently as i am searching for car insurance. Most insurance companies have stopped DOC (driving other cars) for under 25s even if you have comprehensive cover.

Thought i would share this with young drivers here because i know many people who would occasionally drive mates or parents cars thinking they are covered. On most insurance polices it would say you have DOC but the age restrictions will be in small print so be careful.

If we're doing DOC tips another thing to remember is you need the owner's permission for the insurance to be valid.

This sounds simple, but if the car is leased or a company car then the legal owner might well not the person lending you the car and they're not actually entitled to let you drive it.

I know for a fact motorbility cars can not be driven under DOC cover.

Yes i also think the insurance company misleading people on purpose and that is why important stuff is put on small print.

A third one (and this is the truth) is that the car you want to drive has got to have an annual policy already on it, as the idea of DOC extension is for emergency purposes only, not as a replacement for an annual policy. If this condition didn't apply you could insure something cheap and then drive something meaty on the road as well for free!

I reckon a lot of people would do that if they could.
