When do we get our deposits back?
Welcome to the University of Sheffield forum: where prospective and current students can discuss anything from the Arts Tower and the Union, to the Crookesmoor Moors.

Basically, if there's going to be any problems in your room beyond wear and tear when the inspection is done after you move out, then you'll be charged for repairs. They'll deduct the cost from your deposit. If there's no damage then the entire £150 will be refunded back to your bank account.(Original post by think1)
I was just wandering if anyone knows when those in Endcliffe and Ranmoor get our deposits back?

Re: When do we get our deposits back?
Usually it will be in a few weeks. When you get your deposit back, be sure to ask for an invoice, to let you know where your money has gone. We got charged £40 each (in a flat of 10) for a sofa that needed to be re-covered. You can go down to SCS and buy a brand new one for less!!

Re: When do we get our deposits back?
I got my deposit back yesterday, the full amount too. In my (and others') experience, the more nitpicky you are with your inventory, the less likely they are to charge you for anything. We put down every tiny spot on the walls or sofas as "dirty" or whatever. Yeah, inspecting your whole accommodation that thoroughly takes an hour or two out of the Fresher's week, but for a £150 return that's a pretty good "investment". (<-- A tip for any future freshers reading this.)
