    GCSE Astronomy
Hi guys, I was thinking of doing the GCSE Astronomy as a external candidate, however so far I didn't manage to find a single exam centre that offers GCSE Astronomy for private candidates, considering that there is a slight element of coursework involved. Has anyone done Astronomy externally?

It's been a while since you posted and nobody's replied yet...maybe you should check out MarkedbyTeachers.com, TSR's sister site. It has the largest library of essays in the UK.

They've got over 181,000+ coursework, essays, homeworks etc.. all written by GCSE, A Level, University and IB students across all topics. You get access either by publishing some of your own work, or paying £4.99 for a month's access. Both ways give you unlimited access to all of the essays.

All their documents are submitted to Turnitin anti-plagiarism software, so it can't be misused, and the site's used by hundreds of thousands of UK teachers and students.

What's more, you can take a look around the site and preview the work absolutely free. Click here to find out more...

I've only just spotted this (by search randomly for GCSE Astronomy ) and I don't at what stages of school/college etc you're in, but I've done the GCSE and I did it independently. But basically I went to my Examinations Officer at school and said I wanted to do the GCSE. He told me how much the different parts of it cost (as I did it as an extra GCSE I had to play for it myself) and he then looked for someone to do the coursework marking for me. That was the tricky part, but luckily there was another school on the other side of Manchester that did it and had a qualified teacher, who could mark my coursework as well.
Most of the time, the best place to ask is your own school's examinations officer. Everywhere has one, but you might have to ask around to find out who it is if you don't already know. But that's where I would start.
