    Possibility in modal logic
    Does anyone else find it unreasonable to have ◊P in modal logic?

    Just read about it in wiki. Why is it unreasonable? Would it have any use without that?

    of course there are different forms of construal of the possibility operator, but you have to start somewhere if you want to do aletheic logic.

    I know nothing about formal logic, but as far as I can tell you're questioning whether the possibility is a meaningfull predicate--am I right? It obviously doesn't behave in the same way as normal predicates; but could not propositions about possibility be reduced to conditional propositions about existence?
