    Private halls?
I'm sorry if this thread already exists but I thought best to make a new one as I could really use some specific advice.

I'm now a second year student at UoM and have ended up in a pretty unfortunate situation. Was meant to be living with my boyfriend of 3 years come September but the relationship has now fallen to pieces and I am without a home! All my friends sorted theirs out a long time ago so I'm looking into private halls around Oxford Road area (last year I lived in Salford so this is all novel to me) and wondered if anyone could recommend anywhere in particular?

After some initial digging I really like the sound of Monty Halls and Ropemaker Court. The latter's a bit pricey but luckily I've landed me a job starting in September so hopefully should be alright.

    Thanks!

Why not move into a shared house? There are always people advertising because they have a spare room, and it will work out cheaper, and you'll be able to meet the people that you'll be living with first (unlike in private halls).

Hey If you're still looking for a place to live, a large double room has just become available in a spacious 4-bed house just off Hathersage Road (the road just before Tesco, Lidl, Superdrug on Oxford Road). The rent is £75 per week, plus bills. House is clean and fully equipped with fire alarms, combi boiler and has good standard kitchen and bathroom facilities. I was meant to live there this year but my boyfriend's unfortunately suffering from a serious illness, so I've had to take some time out from university (I study at UoM, would be entering my second year this Sept). Let me know if you're interested x
