What I need to enter UK
    Hi all

I have my Tier 1 visa in my passport. Do I need anything else to clear immigration in the UK?

I was told I might need to bring my Offer Letter from the uni, but that has been sent to my friend's address in the UK, so I won't be able to bring that with me into the UK when I arrive next week.

is the visa / full page sticker in my passport enough proof?

I just don't want there to be any problems!

    thanks
    T

No, your passport with the visa is enough, but it is a good idea to bring some proof of study just in case. (at least that's what the consulate in NY told me). They will fingerprint you at passport control to make sure you really are you, and maybe ask you a question or two, but that's it really.

I am planning on taking print outs of my emails that the university sent (such as my accommodation confirmation, course acceptance etc. ) Also keep on hand the postal address of your University as you'd have to fill up a little card at the airport on arrival.

This is an old thread but I have a question regarding this topic so no point in crearting a new one.

If I am a non-EU national and entering the UK to study, will they ask me if I have a return ticket? I have been to the UK 3 times before, every time entering with visitor visa and they used to ask me a lot of questions, so I was wondering if I need to book a return ticket if I am entering as a student.

I think there's some specific kind of long-term visa for people wishing to come to the UK for studying purposes.

They also need proof you can support yourself, a bank account t or a job lined up should be enough :-)
