I just finished my first year of Psychology at university and managed to scrape by my stats module by getting 39.50%... .50% below 40%.

However the university has asked me to retake a test that combines the two tests I scored low on... just to see how much extra help I may need next year. I was wondering if anyone had any good books, tips, websites or general knowledge they could share with me to improve on the stats side of psychology.

I love the whole subject but the stats are really bringing me down as I am not great at maths!!!

Just wondering how does your uni test the stats side? Do you have to do it by hand or is it all on SPSS?

We were given 'cheat sheets' with a flow chart on so you could decide which test to use on SPSS then we had another sheet which showed us exactly how to perform that test. These sheets were based off the book Statistics without Maths for Psychology by Dancey. See if your uni has that book it's pretty handy

Where do you study?

I think statistics is hard if you do not grasp it well. Anyway, we had a book called Statistics for the Behavioural Sciences by Gravetter and Wallnau. It goes through a various range of statistical methods and techniques by hand, which is the best way in my opinion. Good luck.
