    Advanced Higher History
Just general chat on the subject mentioned. Who's taking it? What are your thoughts on the course? What topics are you studying in the course?

A word of warning to all those taking it (I sat it this year): I hope you like reading. A LOT.

    If not, well, have fun...

I sat it this year (waiting for results now). It's not that bad, though! You need to read a bit, but it's not overwhelming. The course is interesting (well, the American Civil War is, anyway) and I think the fact that it's just one big topic helps, as everything is connected in some way.

For your dissertation, read only what is relevant. Don't read whole books, or you'll end up with too much information to properly fit in!

Anyway, enjoy it. It's not impossible, and you'll surprise yourself on how well you'll do! But, of course, like anything you do have to make an effort and put the work in
