    Starting Uni
Well, initially i was really excited to go to uni, meeting new people and having the freedom i've never had. But now, as the start date approaches, i feel myself getting worried and nervous. My (asian) parents never let me go out, in the past few years i've only been to a hand full of parties, so i haven't really experienced that side of life yet. So, when i was allowed to go to greece with my friends (took a lot of crying and arm twisting), i thought "yes, i can finally see what this is all about" and although i did drink a bit, not nearly as much as "normal" people and i didn't really like the people my friends became when they did drink and i'm worried this is what a typical day out in uni will be like. So i guess what i'm trying to ask in a rather long about manner is can you control your character when drunk, i.e. she's just a one off.

Sorry for the essay, i appreciate you reading this!

It completely varies from person to person, I know people who turn into complete ****holes when drunk and others (myself included) who can control themselves.
Try not to worry about it, you're going to meet so many people at university that I'm sure you'll find plenty of people you enjoy hanging around with, even if they're drunk.

Some can, some can't. Some get a lot better (myself included). I didn't drink that much, it's a shame that drinking has become such a central part of socialising nowadays.

Thanks. I know what you mean Dan, i feel that i will need to drink to "fit in" because most of the good memories will be formed in clubs/pubs/parties whatever.

Good memories? Or do you mean the relentless amounts of images posted on Facebook, related to (drunken) nights out? :rofl2:. You don't need to drink to have a good time; that is merely a deception.
