    Interesting things for my room.
My room at university is getting quite boring; it has everything I need to function but I want it to look a bit more interesting.

Can people suggest things I can buy from places like Ikea or even one of those gadget shops?

PS. I don't like lava lamps.

    Thanks

    Vb

Not stuff from ikea and probably a bit girly/hipster, but I have a glass coke bottle filled with marbles which looks pretty cool, and I use pretty alcohol bottles as book ends.

There's some awesome stuff on here

Alternatively why not something which makes it more personal? Picture walls are always pretty cool (and easily doable). Maybe something which adds a theme to your room? Might sound a bit gay but somebody I knew had elephants around, not obvious things, but small things.

Interesting paintings for the wall. Organize your study table, put a cover on it.

Hmmm, can't think of anything else. Make it your own.

Get some posters/photographs to decorate your walls?

The slightly clichéd student classic would be the Trainspotting 'speech' poster (not sure I can post it on here due to the swearing)

Personally have a wall with magazine/newspaper clippings covering it, in some places its 3 layers thick as I refuse to take any down, looks pretty good imo. I also collect things from places I go, all are pretty small but have a meaning to me which is all that matters.

Thanks for your replies. Ill take a quick video to show you what my room currently looks like. I don't think I have room for the dungeon, tho!

Wall stickers/canvas prints are always good. There's loads on eBay for reasonable prices.

    What's wrong with lava lamps?

I love things with quotes on...got this poster for my shoe cupboard: "i didnt have 3000 pairs of shoes, i had 1060" not that that'll be of any interest to you as you're a guy but hey..
