Mac wont play some online videos
Hi, i recently got a mac, and have noticed that it doesnt play some online videos, I already have flash installed, youtube works but when I try to stream some movies/tv shows the players to show the video. Does anyone know what plugins or codecs I need, i already have divx installed.

Re: Mac wont play some online videosI mainly watch from this website: http://www.tubeplus.me/ and other similar ones(Original post by didgeridoo12uk)
what websites are you trying to watch videos on?
youtube may well be sending you the videos via html5 not flash, so its a possibility that flash just isn't installed properly
try watch them in chrome and see what happens
I have already reinstalled flash, videos work fine on youtube, and divx players, but some different video hosts it doesnt play. I am already using chrome, I tried safari but it tells me to download a plugin called codec v, but I researched this and it doesn't seem very safe? -

Re: Mac wont play some online videosvery weird, and you dont need to have bothered installing flash if you use chrome, it as its own copy built in which is why it's a good check.(Original post by ThisCantBeChanged)

as you're watching videos from decidedly dodgey sources the videos themselves might just be broken or require weirdly specific plugins. ninjavideo which got shut down use to need a specific old version of divx to work properly, so they can be a bit weird.
