    please help!! my modem isn't working!!!
    last night we had power loss in the house. since everything is back normal, my modem isn't working! i plugged and unplugged the cables, and still there is no power. i also tried different sockets but nothing seems to help! any idea what is wrong?

    you probably just need to reset it, this has happened to us before in the same situation. There will most likely be a small reset button at the back that can be pushed with a pencil/paperclip or whatever. However, you will have to set up your internet connection again once this is complete.

    Do any lights come on at all? Also, is it a modem/gateway you bought or one of the toy ones ISPs give out free?

    If no lights come on when you plug it in, it's fubar.

    If lights come on, but it's not transmitting, i.e. you can't see the connection on your computer, then you should probably just try resetting it.
