Electives back-to-back
Hello,
Firstly, I know there's 1.5 billion threads about electives on TSR, but I've had a really good search and I haven't found an answer yet so I'm biting the bullet and just making my own thread.
Because I'm a returning undergrad student, I'm at the moment choosing my electives for September. I've found some I really want to do, but when I've compared the timetables with my original course, whilst the lectures don't clash, they are back-to-back (as in, French is 11:00-12:00, IR is 12:00-13:00).
Now, when I was originally at Leeds, I very vaguely remember in an induction lecture someone saying that the lecture times allows for movement (such as the lecture teaching will actually finish at 5 to the hour or whatever). It's so vague in my memory however, I've half-convinced myself I've made it up in my head haha. Wishful thinking I spose....
Any help would be great, I really want to do these electives! -
Re: Electives back-to-back
This shouldn't be a problem considering that technically, as you stated, lectures are supposed to finish five minutes before the hour. Still, it hardly matters much even if you are a couple of minutes late as there are always other latecomers for various reasons and lectures are after all not compulsory. Electives are awesome - go for it.

Re: Electives back-to-backYes, that's right. As I know to my cost whenever I try to get to a meeting on the hour and have to fight against a tide of students going the other way(Original post by Aaaaaaaargh!)

Yes, that's right. As I know to my cost whenever I try to get to a meeting on the hour and have to fight against a tide of students going the other way
