Applying to Cambridge from EU
I am highly interested in applying to Cambridge in 2014, but reading all this information got me confused. I study in Bulgaria and I am Bulgarian, but I study in an American School so I will have both a Bulgarian and American diploma. On the Cambridge's website it says that international students particular from Bulgaria need to have high grades in school and one of the following certificates:
- IELTS - normally a minimum overall grade of 7.0, usually with 7.0 in each element
- EU students - a high grade in English taken as part of a leaving examination (eg the European/French Baccalaureate, Abitur etc) may be acceptable
- GCSE in English Language / IGCSE English Language (as a first language) - grade C or above
- Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English - grade A
- Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English - grade A or B
For now my grades are really high and I intend to keep them that way and I will be taking IELTS and TOEFL this September, but I wonder is there anything else that I need to take or have. Do I need to take SAT, SAT II, AP??? Are they going to help me get in and what results do I need to have?
I am definitely taking APs in macro and microeconomics this year as well.
I forgot to mention that I will be applying for Economics. -
Need some advise
I am highly interested in applying to Cambridge in 2014, but reading all this information got me confused. I really need someone to explain to me. I study in Bulgaria and I am Bulgarian, but I study in an American School so I will have both a Bulgarian and American diploma. On the Cambridge's website it says that international students particular from Bulgaria need to have high grades in school and IELTS or something similar. I took this out of here: http://www.study.cam.ac.uk/undergrad...uirements.html

PLEASE give me some tips of what to do. What did YOU do to get in? -
Re: Applying to Cambridge from EU
Why did you make two threads with pretty much the same content?
You don't need the SAT's for UK universities. Having AP's will help (since they're a recognised qualification and less subjective than high school grades), but not essential.
But obviously you should be doing everything you can to make your application competitive. What course would you be going for? -

Economics. By "Anything" - you mean: extracurriculars, certificates, competitions? -

Why do you want to take both IELTS and TOEFL? Wouldn't just one of them be sufficient?
I will probably take only one ( IELTS most certainly) -
Re: Applying to Cambridge from EUExtracurriculars don't matter so much, except to prove time management skills. But qualifications and competitions certainly will help to prove aptitude and enthusiasm for a subject.(Original post by tzvety1704)
